By not signing the Decree on the Law on Languages, the President violates the Constitution because, if the majority voted for the second time, the President is obliged to sign it, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi said in an interview for the “Night Studio” show.
Xhaferi said he was still considering and consulting what his next steps would be. According to him, the most important thing is that he blocked the blockade and secured the functioning of the Assembly in the upcoming reform process. He says the adoption of the law was not a hasty decision because the law was passed on January 11, and he gave them two months for everyone to come to terms. The attitude of VMRO-DPMNE according to Jaffafari was ultimative – they did not accept compromises, but only demanded that the law be withdrawn.
