SDSM together with the coalition partners won in more than 40 municipalities in Macedonia. VMRO-DPMNE assessed that the process was undemocratic, and Gruevski says he has the highest responsibility for the election results.
SDSM together with the coalition partners won in more than 40 municipalities in Macedonia, SDSM said. The party says that this victory has rounded up the changes in Macedonia. VMRO-DPMNE, meanwhile, believes that voting has gone into a non-democratic atmosphere. The reasons for not receiving good results in the elections will be analyzed, and the party’s leader announced the next steps after the elections.
The State Election Commission previously assessed that local elections were democratic, fair and without incidents. The SEC says the parties have complied with the fair and democratic elections code, and the Commission has managed to overcome all problems instinctively.
According to the preliminary results, announced by the State Election Commission on Sunday, the candidates for mayors of SDSM lead in 49 municipalities, VMRO-DPMNE in 10 municipalities, DUI in 12, and candidates of nine other parties, coalitions and a group of voters lead to other municipalities.
